You can receive €1,200 a month while studying health courses – apply from 2 Nov 2026
Medical, dental, midwifery and pharmacy students in France can receive a €1,200 gross monthly allowance during studies, with a minimum two‑year service commitment in underserved zones. Applications open 2 Nov 2026.
Who this affects
You are a student in one of the health fields – medicine, dentistry, midwifery or pharmacy (but not industrial pharmacy) – who has successfully completed at least the first year of the first cycle. The scheme also accepts health professionals with a non‑EU degree who are doing a consolidation programme in medicine or dentistry in France.
What changes for you (including when)
- Monthly allowance: You will receive a gross €1,200 each month for the whole duration of your studies or consolidation programme.
- Service commitment: After finishing your studies you must work in a zone identified as having an insufficient medical offer or access‑to‑care difficulties. The length of that work must be equal to the period you received the allowance and can never be less than 2 years.
- Application window: The dossier for the 2026‑2027 academic year can be submitted on the national platform starting 2 Nov 2026.
What to do now
- Gather the required documents: current enrolment certificate, a motivation letter describing your professional project and the relevant academic transcripts (first‑year grades for second‑year students, or the two‑year transcript for more advanced students).
- Create an account on the national platform for the dispositif and upload the documents before the deadline set by the platform (the exact closing date is not specified in the source).
- Prepare for a possible interview – the selection commission will consider your grades and the quality of your project. Some candidates may be selected without an interview.
If you do not fulfil the post‑study work commitment, the contract will be terminated and you will have to repay the allowances you received.
